Easy Pear Galette

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of pre-made pie crust
  • 1 12 oz pack Crunch Pak Sweet Peeled Pear Slices
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon turbinado sugar (optional, for sprinkling)
Method
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced pears, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Gently toss until the pears are evenly coated with the mixture. Set aside.
  3. Place the pre-made pie crust on the parchment-lined baking sheet. If the pie crust is not already in a circle, gently roll it out into a rough circle shape, about 12 inches in diameter.
  4. Arrange the sliced pears in the center of the pie crust, leaving about 2 inches of space around the edges.
  5. Carefully fold the edges of the pie crust over the pears, pleating as you go around to create a rustic edge.
  6. Brush the edges of the galette with the beaten egg. If desired, sprinkle the turbinado sugar over the edges for extra sweetness and crunch.
  7. Place the galette in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the pears are tender.
  8. Once baked, remove the galette from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet. Transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely, or serve warm.
  9. Optional: Serve slices of pear galette with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra indulgent treat.
