Prep Time:15-20 minutes
Total Time:50-55 minutes
Yields:1 pear galette, serving 6-8 slices
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet of pre-made pie crust
- 1 12 oz pack Crunch Pak Sweet Peeled Pear Slices
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon turbinado sugar (optional, for sprinkling)
Method
- Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced pears, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Gently toss until the pears are evenly coated with the mixture. Set aside.
- Place the pre-made pie crust on the parchment-lined baking sheet. If the pie crust is not already in a circle, gently roll it out into a rough circle shape, about 12 inches in diameter.
- Arrange the sliced pears in the center of the pie crust, leaving about 2 inches of space around the edges.
- Carefully fold the edges of the pie crust over the pears, pleating as you go around to create a rustic edge.
- Brush the edges of the galette with the beaten egg. If desired, sprinkle the turbinado sugar over the edges for extra sweetness and crunch.
- Place the galette in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the pears are tender.
- Once baked, remove the galette from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet. Transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely, or serve warm.
- Optional: Serve slices of pear galette with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra indulgent treat.
