Location: Selah, WA

Description:

Sort, fill, depalletize/palletize, hand pack trays, inspect fruit, weigh, lid, utility, and label as process requires. Relieve co-workers for breaks, and assist where needed. Involves communication with Team Lead, QA and Supervisors.

Duties:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. All of the following are to be performed while adhering to Crunch Pak (Selah) operational policies, safety rules, procedures and good manufacturing practices. It is the responsibility of every employee at Crunch Pak (Selah) to report food safety and food quality problems or risks to your Lead, Supervisor or Manager.

NOTE: We are on Tree Top property utilizing space owned by Tree Top. The footprint in which we occupy is small and we are expected to be fully self-sufficient.

1. Assist Where Assigned/Needed
• Rotate to different tasks per Team Lead or Supervisors instructions
• Assist in breaks and lunches as required
• Complete any other tasks as required, i.e., sweep floors, etc.
• Ensure all duties are performed to customer specifications
• Where appropriate attire when handling product, i.e. follow GMP’s
• Remove defective fruit (rot/bruising, size, deformities, etc)
• Sort out defects (rot/bruising, stems, etc.)
• Watch for any foreign material
• Label cases.
• Sort out foreign material
• Inspect all product as it proceeds down the line
• Notify QA Tech Team Lead and/or Supervisor as required
• Depalletize raw product as required
• Palletize finished product according to customer specifications
• Hand fill product trays according to customer specifications
• Weigh product according to customer specifications
• Utility- sweep or squeegee floors, empty waste.


2. Maintain GMPs
• Maintain a clean work area; keep floors swept, brooms, squeegees, etc. in proper place; empty trash cans/bins as needed
• Empty product waste containers and debris as needed
• Inspect conveyor system to comply with GMPs to ensure a smooth process flow
• Adhere to GMP standards throughout the entire plant


3. Ensure Food Safety by Following HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points)
• Adhere to GMP standards throughout the entire plant including PPE.
• Maintain personal cleanliness, wash hands frequently, wear hairnet, wear sanitary gloves
• Follow proper procedures, practices, training
• Avoid cross-contamination
• Follow color code policy
• Follow proper procedures, practices, training including use of PPE this include Face Mask.
• Be familiar with all process flow
• Know all critical control points in all processes; i.e. metal detection

4. Communicate Effectively
• Receive information/instructions from Leads, and Supervisor
• Exchange information with co-workers and supervisors
• Notify QA Techs or Team Lead of recurring quality problems or foreign material
• Notify Mechanics or Team Lead of mechanical problems/issues
• Train new and temporary employees as required

5. Operate Equipment
• Attain necessary knowledge of equipment operation as needed
• Operate equipment as necessary
• Relieve co-workers on equipment when required
• Operate forklift or hand lift if required (must have Forklift certification)
• Wear seat belt at all times when operating forklift

6. Safety
• Make sure to have a complete and clear understanding of all Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures
• Use proper Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures at all times (washing/cleaning machinery, etc.)
• Wear seat belt at all times when operating forklift
• Wear Face Mask and other PPE as required.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma preferred, or General Education Degree (GED) but not required. One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Training can and will be given.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
• Ability to read, write, and communicate, and to interpret documents such as specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively with
co-workers and supervisors.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Forklift Certification required if driving forklift


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use
hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; climb or balance; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to smell.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision to read specifications
and warning labels and to sort products, distance vision to operate lift trucks, color vision to sort product and adhere to color coding containers and utensils, and equipment. Good peripheral vision to
operate forklift and operate line, depth perception to go up or down stairs and ladders and the ability to adjust focus to sort product, to read labels and specifications.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to wet conditions and room temperatures below 40°. The employee is
occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Hearing protection is required.
