What ingredients are in each Crunch Pak? ® package? Crunch Pak ® sliced apples are rinsed in a healthy combination of minerals including calcium and ascorbate (vitamin C). Some packages also contain caramel dip.
How do the fresh sliced apples retain their appearance and freshness? Crunch Pak ® sliced apples are rinsed in a blend of calcium and Vitamin C to maintain their flavor and color. Once applied, the rinse keeps the apples crisp and flavorful for up to 21 days provided the fruit is maintained at 32-40ºF.
Does the process change the taste of the apple? No, unlike other rinses, Crunch Pak's ® rinse has no bitter aftertaste. You taste the natural goodness of the fresh apple!
Is the rinse safe? Yes, the rinse is FDA approved.
Are Crunch Pak ® products Kosher Certified? Yes, our state of the art facility has earned Star-K certification. The packages that carry caramel or fruit dip do not have Star-K certification.
How should Crunch Pak ® fresh sliced apples be handled? Store opened or unopened Crunch Pak ® bags in the refrigerator. Fruit will retain its' goodness for hours, but is best if eaten soon after opening. All fruit should be consumed by the "best if used by" date on the package.
What kind of apples are used? We select the varieties by seasonality and product quality. Gala, Granny Smith, and Pink Lady are some of the favorite varieties found in the Crunch Pak ® bag!
Who is Crunch Pak ? ® Crunch Pak ® was started in the year 2000 by a group of Washington state apple growers. In addition to apples, these growers produce cherries, pears, and other tree fruits in the North Central Washington area.
